EMILY BLESSINGER, MA

Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate

Supervised by Catalina Prebisch, LPC-S

Welcome!

If you are reading this, then you are thinking about making some changes or working to improve a situation. Change can be daunting and I’d like to see if I can help. My goal in therapy is to create a safe, comfortable environment that allows each person to explore their goals.  Because everyone has unique concerns, I strive to provide a personally tailored therapeutic experience.  Together we will curate an alliance that will allow you to feel comfortable sharing openly and without fear of judgement.

I have a multi-faceted background, including an undergraduate degree in general studies  with minors in Sociology, Communication, and Religion, and I’ve been a teacher who worked with both adolescents and adults.  My life experience helps me to relate to clients in a way that is difficult to replicate otherwise.  Most recently, I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Houston Baptist University and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern.  I practice under the supervision of Catalina Prebisch, LPC-S.

My clinical practice as a therapist includes work with adolescents, adults, families, and couples.  I particularly enjoy working with individuals who are adjusting to changes in life or are looking to improve their quality of life through attaining higher levels of emotional resilience and self-actualization.  I also can help with improving relationships,  mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression, processing grief, and working through past experiences and trauma.   I draw upon techniques from Existential, Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral, Interpersonal, and Mindfulness approaches to therapy, and am also trained in the Gottman Method of couple’s counseling.  Once we meet and get to know one another I’ll create a custom treatment plan based on your unique needs.

If you think I might be the right therapist for you or your child, call the office and let’s meet and create a plan. I would be grateful for the opportunity to support you in nurturing your mental health and wellness.
