PATRICIA R. HAMILTON, MS
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist - Supervisor
Seeking help is about taking action to find emotional balance, recover lost joy and change perspectives that are holding you back. It isn't enough to look good from the outside. It is about having the courage and confidence to face and feel all of your emotions. Instead of avoiding problems, it is necessary to lean in. Change is possible when reflection and hard work give way to insight, self awareness, and a new perspective. It is with great respect that I do this work. I am humbled by the honesty and courage of my clients and inspired to see their lives take flight.
I am a Marriage Family Therapist and have been in practice for 18 years. I am licensed in Texas and California. My undergraduate degree is in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and my Masters Degree is in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage, Family, Therapy, from Dominican University in San Rafael, California. I have additional training and experience in CBT, Mindfulness, Family Systems, Suicide Prevention, Social Emotional Learning, ADHD, and trauma.
I spent many years of my career as a K- 8 school counselor, helping educators, students, and parents navigate academic challenges, sex education, use of screens, technology and social media, drug and alcohol use and prevention, and the ever changing social/emotional difficulties prominent in today's youth. I enjoy working with all ages, including teens, couples and families to help them, stop, breathe, and create lives that are satisfying and meaningful.
For those in training to be an LMFT, I'm also a board approved Supervisor for Marriage Family Therapists Associates in the state of Texas. For information regarding supervision services please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
