TAMI SHEENA, MA
Licensed Professional Counselor - Intern
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me and how we might be able to collaborate. No matter how old (or young) you are, and no matter what you are struggling with, I will work with you without judgment to create safety, trust, and understanding. My goal in therapy is to help my clients gain self-awareness, improve their relationships, and find a deeper sense of meaning and purpose.
My passion for learning about psychology and wellbeing of children and adolescents led me further my education. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, and then earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute where my emphasis was on marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, and depth psychology.
I am in the internship phase of my career, which means I have completed all my education, passed rigorous board exams, and completed practicums where I gained experience working with clients under supervision. As an intern I will continue my professional work under the supervision of Louise Dreyfus, LMFT-S,
I love working with children and teens. Sometimes this involves a behavioral approach while at other times it is insight-based, and often it is both. With adults, I help identify and process life experiences that have been the cause of limiting mindsets and distress. I am passionate about learning about you, what brings you into therapy, and how we might create change together.
If you’re reading this, you may be wanting to make a change. I would like to meet with you so that we can create some ideas together. I have worked with people of all ages in a variety of settings and I look forward to working with you.
