Hello! My name is Dr. Latimer (previously Chapman). I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a passion for helping others reach their goals. I do this through both psychotherapy and psychological evaluations.

Throughout my time as a clinician, I've gained invaluable experience working in academic health science centers, inpatient settings, and large private practices, completing psychological evaluations and working therapeutically with kids, teens, and adults on a variety of concerns, but especially anxiety, depression, and building executive functioning and social skills. In therapy, I typically rely on a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework, but incorporate other modalities, like Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as it makes sense.

I know folks seek psychological testing for a number of reasons — often, not by choice, but because a school or prescribing physician requests it; HOWEVER, I truly believe that a psychological evaluation is an amazing springboard toward self-discovery. It can help unlock your superpowers, target interventions, and validate your struggles while showing you that you're not alone. After the testing process, I want to provide you with the resources you need to feel empowered to tackle whatever comes next!

Regardless of the type of service you seek, working with me is a collaborative experience that will meet you where you are. Together, we can create a safe and motivating space for you to grow into the person you want to be. I know taking your first steps toward change can be scary, but let's take them together!

A little more about my background and how it influences my current practice...

Before I became a psychologist, I was a musician and music researcher with an interest in nonprofit organizations. I earned a bachelor's degree in vocal performance and a master's degree in Ethnomusicology from The University of Texas at Austin, alongside certificates in Arts and Cultural Management and Entrepreneurship and Business Foundations. In between degrees, I worked on a multimillion-dollar grant-funded research project studying audience building in nonprofit performing arts organizations across the United States.

This foundation in creativity, data-driven approaches, and systemic change has given me a unique perspective when it comes to working in the mental health field. I'm not afraid to bring art, music, and design into therapy sessions; I like to look at tangible numbers to point us in the right direction and track progress; and I find that I am better able to examine each of my clients as a single complex being, who is constantly influenced by the world around them, frequently toggling in and out between a person-centered and socio-cultural lens.

On a more personal note, I am married to my amazing partner in crime, and we have a very old, very sweet, mildly grumpy, one-eyed toy poodle. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, and cooking with friends and family.
