CONFIDENTIALITY 

Confidentiality is strictly maintained in our practice. We are committed to treating and using protected health information about you responsibly. Any information shared about you will only be with your permission and knowledge.

FEES & BILLING

Each client is responsible for managing the finances of the psychotherapy relationship. Payment is due at the time of service. We accept all credit cards and require a credit card on file prior to scheduling an appointment. Please talk to your therapist about payment arrangements. Sessions must be canceled at least 24 hours ahead of time to avoid a charge. We make every effort to accommodate your personal financial circumstances.

INSURANCE

We do not accept or file insurance. You may choose, however, to file for the insurance reimbursement as part of your out-of-network benefits. We will provide you with a receipt for filing with your insurance company. Consult your insurance provider to determine if you have out-of-network coverage.

SESSION INFORMATION

Therapy sessions are available in person or through our HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom. Typical weekly sessions are 45 minutes in length. Initial diagnostic sessions are usually 75 minutes. If the patient is under the age of 14, an initial session with parent(s) only is required. For teenagers 14 -17, a joint parent-child initial session is usually preferred, based on the issues to be addressed.

OFFICE HOURS

We offer a variety of office hours to accommodate school and work schedules, and try to return calls within 24 hours (usually same day). 

COMMUNICATIONS

We do not provide psychological services via e-mail, text or voice mail, though we are available for brief administrative contact by these means.  You may contact us via e-mail, text or voice mail for scheduling purposes and likewise we will, with your permission, contact you with scheduling reminders, or to briefly respond to messages you send to us.  Do NOT use e-mail or text to contact us regarding a crisis.  We do not provide 24 hour crisis coverage.  If you are in crisis, please call 911 or Crisis Intervention of Houston Hotline at 713.468.5463.  Please note that we cannot guarantee the privacy of e-mail or text messages.
