(For 3rd-5th Grade Upper Elementary Co-Ed, Ages 8-11 Years Old)
This fall, Skills Crafters is offering a 19-week therapy group designed to help children build essential social skills and confidence. Using Social Learning Theory and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we will practice managing impulses, communicating effectively, regulating emotions, solving social problems, and working as a team.
Through fun activities, games, and guided discussions, we will learn to make positive choices, build empathy, strengthen friendships, and discover our unique strengths.
Join us for this supportive and transformative experience where children develop social skills to lead with confidence!
This group focuses on following areas (but are not limited to):
Topics Include:

August 20: Dive into Skills Crafters and create a list of group rules together. Introduction of group members and team building exercises.

August 27: Let's explore the different mental health disorders. This will allow team members to relate to one another, hold empathy, and provide/gain support.

September 3: Gain insight into understanding uncomfortable emotions (Emotion Regulation) and expressing emotional needs.

September 10: Discover how mindfulness skills can help you navigate challenging feelings of anxiety or depression with ease!

September 17: Let's tackle impulsivity and take control of our behavior—I'm in charge of my actions!

September 24: Embark on a Self-Identity Exploration (Self-esteem) experience that will elevate confidence and self-awareness to new heights!

October 1: Find out how to take care of yourself and have fun at the same time! We'll cover mental, physical, and technological hygiene.

October 8: Let's enhance our communication skills to reach our full conversational potential.

October 15: Explore the circles of control to understand what we can and can't control. Take charge of your reactions!

October 22: Practice setting and respecting boundaries and advocating for ourselves when necessary.

October 29: Explore the concept of empathy—understanding its significance and discovering ways to incorporate it into our daily lives.

November 5: Let's delve into defining relationships, making, and keeping friendships with plenty of warmth and empathy!

November 12: Engage in exciting problem-solving activities that enhance our learned skills!

November 19: Participate in team-building activities where we will practice the skills we learned all semester such as communication, advocating, impulsivity control, and mindfulness.

November 26 – No session: Thanksgiving break

December 3: Part 2: Participate in team-building activities where we will practice the skills we learned all semester such as communication, advocating, impulsivity control, and mindfulness.

December 10: Group Winter (Holiday) celebration and wrap-up session, we'll look back at all the awesome things we've learned!
